Load & Save Tasks

The procedures are identical as described on the Load & Save Configuration page, except:

  • the internal file for the task database is tasks.spt, so replace config.scg with tasks.spt
  • instead of tapping Configuration you need to tap the Tasks button on the Main Transfer screen.
  • Replace Config Files(*.scg) with Tasks Files (*.spt) in SPTerm if you use Serial, IR or BT transfer.
  • It is not recommended to use MEMO transfers if you have a large tasks database as it will create multiple MEMO files on your Palm.

Sample Tasks File

The tasks database is transfered as a text file. Below a very simple sample file:

Task File Format Description

This is a description of the above lines used in the task file:

Fields:

  1. TS - Task Start
  2. 500-22May04 - Name of the task (max 12 characters, spaces allowed)
  3. 5 - Number of turnpoints in the task
  4. T - Optional letter meaning that the first turnpoint in the list below should be treated a a Takeoff point.
  5. L - Optional letter meaning that the last turnpoint in the list below should be treated a a Landing point.

Fields:

  1. TR - Task Rules
  2. 0 or 1 - Task rules active (1) or inactive (0)
  3. 6000F or 3000M - Max Start Height in Feet or Meters
  4. 2 - Minimum number of minutes below the max start height to be considered a valid start.
  5. 180 - Minimum task time in minutes
  6. 500F or 250M - Minimum finish height in either feet or meters
  7. 0 or 1 - Final glide to 1000m below start height setting setting active (1) or inactive (0)
  8. 0 or 1 - Start altitude reference setting MSL (1) or AGL (0)
  9. 0 or 1 - Finish altitude reference setting MSL (1) or AGL (0)
  10. 780 - Start local time setting in minutes - 780 = 13:00 local
  11. 0 or 1 - Start on entry setting active (1) or inactive (0)
  12. 0 or 1 - Warn before start setting active (1) or inactive (0)
  13. 0 or 1 - Include cylinder distance setting active (1) or inactive (0)
  14. 5F or 5M - Start warn height in either feet or meters

  1. TW - Task Waypoint/Turnpoints
  2. 50:30:30.00N - Latitude in the DD:MM:SS.SS format
  3. 007:15:19.98E - Longitude in the DDD:MM:SS.SS format
  4. 221 - Optional Waypoint Type
  5. 673F - Turnpoint elevation in either feet (F) or meters (M)
  6. MOENH - Waypoint/turnpoint name
  7. Moenchsheide - Waypoint/turnpoint remarks
  8. 017376000000000000 - Optional area turnpoint info with the following format:
    • First 6 characters - Max Radius in nautical miles * 1000 - In this case 17376 for 17.376 nautical miles (20 statute miles)
    • Next 6 characters - Min Radius in nautical miles * 1000 - In this case 000000 for 0.0 nautical miles
    • Next 3 characters - Radial 1 of the area in whole degrees (use 000 if not needed as in this case)
    • Next 3 characters - Radial 2 of the area in whole degrees (use 000 if not needed)
